Power of Prayer?:

Not sure how prayer works. Can we (or the saints) actually convince God to change things? I am convinced of the power of prayer after seeing its positive effects when my father needed them, yet not sure how it works. Do we need to pray for our own self-journey or does God actually change his mind about how things work. Not sure if prayer is that important. I understand that communicating with God keeps the relationship strong, yet the one-sidedness feels very empty.

Abortion:

When it comes to abortion I'm 100% on board with Catholic teaching. If someone says that they approve of abortion because it's okay to kill a baby in the womb before it matures into a more formed human being, okay, that is worth a discussion. Yet, the argument of woman's choice, her body, and other similar common positions is just insane to me. How is a pregnant woman not carrying a human life? Killing is just killing. If you want to justify the murder, try, but don't tell me it is not murder.

Hello friends. Here is just a little bit about this blog, its purpose and the author. I am a cradle Catholic who loves his faith. I went to Catholic elementary school and I am currently a teacher at a Catholic elementary school. I understand and teach all the basics of the faith. I love my faith and not here to attack the Church. This blog is dedicated to thoughts about our Church and the journey.

There is a scripture that basically states being lukewarm in your faith is the worst thing possible, but the truth is that is where I am on my faith journey. Based on just observations, that is where most people are too...this blog is for us.
